A bit of history

The new chapel
With holidaymakers, chalet owners and tourists increasing in number, the Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption chapel was opened in 1948.
On August 6, 1950, the inauguration took place with great pomp and lasted from 9:30 a.m. until late in the evening: blessing of the chapel and the bell, solemn high mass, sermon by Bishop Lebon, grand brass band concert, country supper at a popular price (50 cents), benediction of the Blessed Sacrament and, finally, a program of animated views presented by Father Maurice Proulx.
