This challenge can be explained using an exponential function.

The rule of an exponential function is f(x) = a ( base ) ^x , where f(x) represents the number of infected people, a is the initial value, b is the base, and x represents the number of days since the start of the challenge.

So, if we take the example of the ice bucket challenge, we will obtain the following formula:
